So…
Tonight at Koji’s, I had basically decided to not give the two guys there (OOMA and Cute Boy) any of my time. Okay, well, that lasted about 25 seconds as I walked in and Cute Boy was sitting there. So we started chatting and he’s adorable and taken and…
Then OOMA walks in, greets everyone, hangs out with the other girls, which was fine with me. I was enjoying Cute Boy and his flirtation and just thought, what the hell. Then talked to Cute Boy about the concept of “boys are stupid, throw rocks at them.” He was intrigued.
Oh, wait. Let me add that when I walked in and Cute Boy stood up and offered me his seat, I declined. He said he needed to get up any way, he’d been sitting for a while, so I told him he could walk to the bar and get me a drink. And he did. Wow, that really works. He went to the bar later, got distracted when he went to sing and the bartender gave him two drinks, so he handed me his extra one. And for context for this blog, I’ve had two drinks tonight, which is one over my limit, so I apologize if this tangents off into the stratosphere.
So, anyway, chatting with Cute Boy about throwing rocks at boys. I told him after a few more drinks, I might tell him everything, and he was threatening all night to take me up that.
Then OOMA joins us. Not all that unusual, as the two of them get along and chat from time to time. But it always seems that OOMA hangs around Cute Boy more when Cute Boy and I are talking. And he and talked a lot tonight, so OOMA hung around a lot tonight. Interesting.
As the evening went on, everyone pretty much left, leaving me sitting between these two. And I couldn’t help but go, what the f***?! We were having a blast, the three of us, but I noticed a bit of... I don’t know. Maybe it’s the two drinks. But I kinda felt a little bit like there was maybe some competition going on. Of course, two drinks and I could think just about anything. OOMA even held up the elevator to finish telling me a little story as Cute Boy and I got off on our parking level. He’s never done that before.
So Cute Boy walks me to my car and we hugged good night and he lingered a moment before walking away.
So I get in my car (gosh, I’ve written “so” a lot) and plug in my Ipod and the first song that comes up is Keith Urban’s version of “Stuck in the Middle with You.” The universe has one fucked up sense of humor. I got stuck on “clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle with you.”
Story of my life.
